So I was doodling a possible July "Steph of the Month" and one of my studio mates hovered over me and noticed that I always draw my current self as a kid. Let the over-analyzing about psychological stunting begin! So of course my first response was "NO I DON'T!" until I looked at this year's self portrait line-up and realized... oh crap, I draw myself as a 6 year old with boobs. To further my terror, he also brought to my attention that all of my pin-up girls also have the heads of children and the bodies of older women.

$#Q#!&@#@@$!!!

So, I figured I would try to draw a self po' of how I look today. Um, I think I maybe look 12 in this one. It's a start.

See, this is why I draw myself as a creepy child-lady. In reality, I am a boring and exhausted adult.

The look of discomfort really makes this evocative as a self-portrait.

Creepy child lady, hahaha. I've been known to do similar things in self-portraits. You're not alone. :D

Puh-leeeze. Like 2o something yr. old is an "old lady"! Girls in our business don't look our age anyways.

i actually see you pretty much as your weird kiddy-style portraits anyway!

i remember you in person as slightly shorter with 4 times the enthusiasm. :)

Better as a kid than a midget with a pumpkin head! ;)

Why does your studio mate hate you!?!

I LOVE your child-self caricature with an adult body. I think they're a beautiful expression of the honesty and innocence that your spirit still possesses.

I definitely like this portrait; reminds me of cool, more obscure Disney flicks like Taran or Atlantis :)

Hey!! I will be in San Diego on Friday! You are at a booth yes? I will stop by and we can discuss the terrors of child head on adult bodies, I too have been accused by my coworkers of this. :( Booo.....

I have to say, that I like your childlike version of yourself. I don't want you to lose that part of you that wants to be a little girl and always have fun. Keep drawing her!

I draw myself as a child lady too. I see no problem with it and prefer this style over a more realistic style. By the way, I love your stuff too. You are inspirational!
