Remember I said I would make up for March's lack of a Steph O' the Month?
Here ya go. Inspired by my trip to Big Sur on my birthday :) I have some room for tweaks before this goes into my book (incidentally, I will be altering this comp to make the book's cover) so I am open to all feedback. I am trying to push scale, depth and composition in my work now. I gotta do more multi-figure comps and environments if I'm gonna get to where I need to be. :D

wow. thats really freeking good.
IM SOOO STOKED ON YOUR STYLE THESE DAYS LADY!!! KEEP ON WITH THE FRESHNESS AND STAY CUTE AS EVER!!!... ps.. i think the seagulls could be way smaller to push the scale, and i think if you ligthen the giant octopus, itll help to knock that fool more into the distance!!!!
I saw your stuff in Illustrator community and I have to say, your artwork is adorable. Keep them coming!
p/s I like the word brain fart too hahah!
Adorable piece ;)
If you want to experiment for more interest and/or added depth for the octopus, you could try taking advantage of it's movements (i.e. the tentacles) and place objects such as pirates, broken ships, and so forth. Additionally, I like the color palette. If want to consider in adding a little spice in the foreground, how about maybe some seaweed, sea shells, or a wandering snail/crab for fun?
Cool~ Didn't know you had a blog and were on Gorilla Artfare. Congratulations! I need to visit your SB more often. Haha.
super cuteness!! I really like this piece- (and isn't Big Sur amazing? So beautiful!) I'm in love with your centaur pieces as well- very awesome work! :D
This is just a great piece! Keep up the fantastic work.
